“Learn for 100 dollars”, a report on XO of OLPC on Arte

To advocate development by the access to knowledge, it is well. Remained to invent means.

By melting the One Laptop Per Child organisation (a laptop computer by child), the American Nicholas Negroponte jostled the traditional vision of education in developing countries, given with books, pencils and notebooks. This ancient manager of the famous SHOULD PUT (Massachussetts Institute of Technology) Medium Labs of Boston crossed years to perfect a laptop computer adapted to the children, to the hands, to the way they teach and in the places where they can use him, often without electricity. He offers from now on this small wonder of technology and of robustness for 100 dollars to the interested governments. Peru and Rwanda have already invested in this plan, from which the association created by Negroponte gains other advantage than satisfaction to help in the education of the children and in the development of their country.

A French laboratory brings the management of the multitouch on touch screen to Linux

The multitouch made the success of the tactice interface of the iPhone of Apple. At the beginning of June, 2009, during Computex 2009, we could discover the management of the multitouch under Windows 7 on ASUS EEE PC T91 (see the videos of the articles of EeePC.de and jkkmobile.com). Perhaps that further to this announcement, LII (Laboratory of Interactive Computer science) from ENAC (National School of Aviation Cicile) wanted shown what he can make since this laboratory works on the multitouch many years (they find even a reference to a document dating of 1994).

First contact with OLPC XO-1

It has been 4 days since all sites relieve information on the fact that OLPC XO-1 is going to be sold in Europe from Monday, November 17th. We did not relieve information since it is an a bit particular product in the world of the netbook. And yet today (finally yesterday seen the hour!), leaving to the Ubuntu Party de Blagnac, I fell on this "Martian" who attracts attention from a distance in the middle of others in rather sad colours in comparison: Or, aujourd’hui (enfin hier vu l’heure !), en allant à l’Ubuntu Party de Blagnac, je suis tombé sur ce “martien” qui se remarque de loin au milieu d’autres aux couleurs tristounettes en comparaison :
